Cireng (Oyster Mushroom Cireng)

Cireng is one of the traditional food/ snack from Indonesia. It’s a good one for afternoon tea guys… Sometimes I want to eat traditional food from Indonesia. But, the only way is…I must cook it by myself so I have to try when I failed I must try again. So this is my way to make my wish, cireng!

To make Cireng :
Seasoning :
- 2 cloves of garlic- mash these!
 - Add salt as you like (1/2 ttsp or 1 ttsp)
 - 1-2 ttsp white pepper powder
 
- 15 spoons of tapioca (I use super quality tapioca)
 - 3 spoons of flour
 - 5 spoons of tapioca to coat
 - 250ml-300ml Boiled water
 - 2 small oyster mushrooms- cut as you like
 - Handful onion leaves (cut it first)
 - Canola oil (to fry cireng)
 
- Take a bowl, place tapioca, flour, onion leaves, oyster mushroom, salt, white pepper powder, garlic that you mashed
 - Pour water slowly…Stir this dough
 - Spread tapioca in a trays
 - Take one spoon dough, roll it in trays to coat your dough. Take it by hand, make a ball and press a little a bit. take a side.. Repeat this until your dough empty
 - Heat oil on medium flame. Deep-fry your dough, drain in paper towel. Take aside

Make Cireng Sauce :
Ingredients :
- 800 ml of water
 - 4-5 dark soy sauce
 - 3-5 seedless tamarind
 - add salt as you like
 - 5 red chilies padi (if you like spicy) – Mash these chilies
 - 2 cloves garlic – chop it
 - 1 baby cucumber – chop it
 
- Turn on the stove on medium flame
 - Place heavy pan or wok. Pour water, dark soy sauce, add garlic that you chopped, add chilies that you mashed, add seedless tamarind, and add salt. Let it boil
 - Add baby cucumber, stir them for few minutes (about 3-5 minutes)
 - Turn off the stove

How to serve Cireng with sauce…
- Place small plate
 - Place cireng first, then pour it with sauce… Done!
 - Enjoy  your afrternoon tea with Indonesia traditional snack
