Sambal / Traditional Indonesian Sauce

This recipe about hot and spicy guys…We called it “Sambal” or Tradisional Indonesian Sauce. There are many various recipes of sambals…And this is a recipe from my kitchen!
Ingredients :
- 5 chili peppers (you can add more as you like)
- 8 cloves of shallots
- 4 cloves of garlic
- 6 cherry tomatoes/honey cherry tomatoes
- 1 tsp salt (add as you like)
- 1 piece of shrimp paste or 1 tsp shrimp paste
- 1 tsp canola oil/ sunflower oil
- Preheat oil in a pan on medium heat.
- Put all of the ingredients, except salt. Cook until looks wilted. Just about 5-10 minutes.
- Transfer the cooked ingredients on the stone mortar. add salt, then mash all of the ingredients by your hand with a pestle on the stone mortar.
You can serve it as hot and spicy condiments for dishes such as grilled fish, fried fish, fried chicken, soto, and many others.
