Hi all of you, how you doing? Well, today I am gonna share on how to eat another food source. Yes, it is a sweet potato. Do you like it? I would like to share my story about the sweet potato in my life. My father taught me that we can eat another food source. Many years ago, we had a hard life, and it's a long story. Our basic food is rice, but we can substitute with cassava, corn, or even sweet potato. Yes, we had breakfast with fried cassava, sometimes we ate boiled cassava, or sometimes boiled sweet potato. Yes, my father grew cassava, sweet potato in his yards. Even we made cassava snacks or sweet potato snacks. It was a long time ago. I still remember that our neighbors could turn the corn and cassava into very nice basic food. At the time, many villagers were very creative and could survive in any kind of situation. But, I always remember what my father taught me. Nowadays, I do still eat sweet potatoes and even make sweet potato leaf soup. What my message in this article is, during the pandemic or another crisis we can still make a choice and adjust our food, such as buy other foods, another food source. 

So, what we have today? Let's check it out!

1. Tempura sweet potato and tempura tofu

Ingredient:
  • 1 sweet potato, about 200 g - I use Japanese sweet potato

  • 2 block of tofu - cut them
  • 6-7 spoon of wheat flour - I use Tesco flour
  • About 150 - 170 ml of water
  • 1 g of turmeric
  • 2 g of coriander leaf
  • 5-7 g of salt
  • about 3 g of garlic powder
  • 3-4 g of onion powder
  • 2-4 g of crushed red paper
  • 300 ml of canola oil
These are what you do:
  • Place the flour in a bowl
  • Add salt, turmeric, garlic powder, onion powder, and coriander leaf
  • Slowly pour the water and mix them wellPeel and cut the sweet potato
  • Cut the tofu

  • First, cover the sweet potato with seasoning flour

  • Fry the sweet potato first until golden brown

  • Then cover the tofu with seasoning flour (same seasoning flour)
  • Fry it until golden brown
  • Now, the tempura sweet potato and tempura tofu is ready for dinner
2. make omelette
  • 2 egg - I use low cholesterol egg or carrot egg
  • salt oregano seasoning
  • Crack the egg and place in a bowl
  • Add salt oregano seasoning about 1 - 2 g
  • Mix them well
  • Fry the egg in the same oil (after fry the tempura sweet potato, and tempura tofu we can use the oil to fry the egg)
  • A few seconds fry the egg on medium-low flame. Turn off the stove and take aside on kitchen paper

3. Veggies

You can use any kind of vegetables that you like. In this menu, I would like to choose carrot, green peas, and cherry tomato. You can boil them but it's your choice.

4. Arrange your dinner
  • Place tempura sweet potato and tempura tofu
  • Cut the omellete and place them

  • Place the veggies
  • Don't forget to eat fruit!
