What is Lontong Cap Go Meh? I believe there are many recipes about this menu. This is a special menu for Peranakan Chinese Indonesian. I cooked this menu a few days ago to celebrate Hari Raya Puasa. It is great and tasty food. You can try at home, and this is my recipe from my kitchen Be right back

1. Lontong

First, you have to cook Lontong. What is lontong? Lontong is rice cake. For this one, I just buy cooked lontong at the grocery.

4. Sambal Goreng Tempe (Tempeh and Tofu)

Ingredients:
  • Tempeh and tofu
  • Canola oil or sunflower oil to deep fry tempeh and tofu
  • water 300ml-400ml
Seasoning :
  • 6-8 cloves of shallots
  • 4 cloves of garlic
  • Chili (add chili as you like)
Mashed all of the seasonings.

Additional seasoning:
  • 2 stalks of lemongrass
  • 2 lime leaves
  • 3-5 cm galangal
  • 2 tsp  dark sweet soy sauce
  • Salt (add salt as you like)
  • Little a bit butter (to saute seasoning)
These are what you do:
  • Deep fry tempeh and tofu
  • Heat stove on medium flame. Saute all of the seasonings (mashed seasoning, lime leaves, lemongrass, galangal) with butter, about 5 minutes.
  • Add fried tempeh and tofu and water. Mix them well
  • Pour dark sweet soy sauce, and salt, mix them until fully cooked, about 5-10 minutes
  • Take aside
5. Sambal Telur

Ingredient:
  • 6 eggs
  • Canola oil or sunflower oil to fry boiled eggs
  • A little a bit butter to saute seasonings
Seasoning :
  • 6-8 cloves of shallots
  • 4 cloves of garlic
  • chili (add chili as you like)
  • Cherry tomato (6-8 tomatoes)
  • 2-4 cm ginger
Mashed all of the seasonings.

Additional seasonings :
  • Salt (add salt as you like)
  • 2 stalks of lemongrass
These are what you do:
  • Boil the eggs until fully cooked
  • Remove the shell from a hard-boiled eggs
  • Then fry boiled eggs with a little a bit canola oil/ sunflower oil. Take aside
  • Heat butter on medium flame. Saute mashed seasoning and lemongrass about 5 minutes
  • Add fried boiled eggs, mix them with seasoning
  • Add salt, then mix them well until fully cook about 5-10 minutes
  • take a side
How to serve Lontong Cap Go Meh, these are what you do:
  1. Take a plate or bowl
  2. Add lontong, you have to cut lontong first
  3. Pour Opor Ayam
  4. Pour Sayur Lodeh
  5. Add Sambal Tempeh
  6. Add Sambal Telur (divided into two)
  7. Add fried shallots
  8. The last, Add cracker (I use onion cracker)
Note: You can add beef floss, pickles, or koya powder made of soy. It's your choice.
